Research Associate

Research Associate

The Role: Syntis Bio is seeking a Research Associate to aid in the development of formulations across several application targets. The Research Associate will execute experiments to optimize formulation function and stability. In addition, the Research Associate will support the in vivo and clinical teams, as well as partners. The role will involve clear communication, data interpretation, and presentation of technical data. The role is temporarily located in the Seaport area in Boston, MA with a permanent location in Boston, MA planned for 2023.

The Responsibilities:
- Execute on assays and experiments regarding novel formulation stability and function.
- Propose new formulation strategies for optimal performance or stability.
- Develop understanding on how formulation affects various aspects of function.
- Interpret, analyze, present, and properly record data.
- Support general lab upkeep (receiving, labeling, and safely storing reagents, equipment maintenance etc.).
- Manage multiple experiments and maintain expertise in formulation parameters.
- Perform job related duties as assigned.

The Ideal Skills:
- Bachelors degree in bioengineering, materials science, formulation sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, chemical engineering or other field with relevant experience.
- Experience working in a wet lab environment.
- Creating, following, and troubleshooting formulation and assay protocols.
- Experience working with drug formulations or other biomaterials.
- Proficient with stoichiometry, dilution calculations, and live Excel sheets.
- Strong written and oral communication skills for team projects.

Scientist

Scientist

The Role: Syntis Bio is seeking a Scientist to develop and optimize formulations of a platform technology for several application targets. The Scientist will develop formulation-function relationships and optimize for various functional outputs and stability. In addition, the Scientist will work with the regulatory, in vivo, and clinical teams, as well as external partners. The role will involve clearly presenting technical information to both a technical audience and non- technical audience. The role is temporarily located in the Seaport area in Boston, MA with a permanent location in Boston, MA planned for 2023.

The Responsibilities:
- Build out composition space of formulation strategies.
- Propose new formulation strategies for optimal performance, production, or stability.
- Develop deep understanding on how formulation affects various aspects of function.
- Optimize or establish ex vivo tissue assays.
- Interpret, analyze, present, and properly record data.
- Support general lab upkeep (receiving, labeling, and safely storing reagents, etc.).
- Manage multiple projects and maintain expertise in formulation strategies for various targets.
- Apply broad drug delivery expertise to other projects and propose new formulation functions.
- Prepare documents and presentations that encompass project progression.
- Perform job related duties as assigned.

The Ideal Skills:
- PhD in bioengineering, materials science, formulation sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, chemical engineering or equivalent relative experience. - Comfortable with scientific ambiguity and has experience navigating it.
- Experience working with drug formulations (liquid, pills, etc.) for oral delivery.
- Experience collaborating or working with animal models (rodents, dogs, pigs).
- Strong record of deliberate mentorship or management of research technicians.
- Proven ability to lead the scientific direction of a project.
- Strong written and oral communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Conscientious team member with experience taking and giving constructive feedback.
